eCommerceFuel is the world’s largest community of 7- and 8-figure brand owners with more than 1,200 members. We’re in search of a team member who can make magic by connecting our members to help them grow their business, spark life-long friendships, & help discover their tribe.

Hey there, superstar! 🌟

We’re in search of a Director of Community and Connection at eCommerceFuel. Someone who can make magic by connecting our members to help them grow their business, spark life-long friendships, and help store owners discover their tribe.

Someone wise once said a great community helps members connect with the people and information most impactful for their current situation. You’ll be responsible for making this happen at eCommerceFuel.

A Bit About eCommerceFuel

eCommerceFuel is the world’s largest community of 7- and 8-figure brand owners with more than 1,200 members. We’ve been connecting experienced entrepreneurs for more than a decade and exist to serve three different groups of people:

Our Members: eCommerceFuel is on a mission to help our members build incredible businesses and equally amazing lives. We believe deeply in entrepreneurship but have too often seen how it hijacks lives and becomes all consuming. eCommerceFuel strives to help entrepreneurs build and grow meaningful businesses without sacrificing the truly important things. 🎯

Our Team: Our goal is for every team member to lead a life of adventure, purpose, and growth. We have high standards and expect a lot from our team. But we respect and understand the importance of your personal life. At ECF there’s no endless overtime or always-on communication expectations. And did we mention the yearly month-long sabbatical? 🌴 The goal is to provide space for our team to work hard, recharge, and have room to pursue the important things in life.

The Vulnerable: We strive to show God’s love to the vulnerable of the world, especially children and women. 🌎 A meaningful percent of our earnings goes to nonprofits both in the Philippines and the U.S., assisting orphans, refugees, and others.

What Makes Us…Us?

Sure, honesty, quality work, and good communication are essential in any company worth its salt. But let’s dig into our unique essence:

  • Autonomy: As a remote-first company, we value the magic of self-motivation and a robust independent work ethic. If you can rock it on your own and don’t need a lot of hand holding you’re speaking our language.
  • Levity: We’re a lively bunch! Our daily vibe? Think upbeat, light-hearted, and sprinkled with playful teasing.😜
  • Reasonableness: We value and encourage strong opinions. But what’s paramount? The grace and respect with which you express and share them. If you’ve got a penchant for peace-making without casting aside your beliefs you’ve got the right stuff for our team. If 80% of your social media posts are political rants demonizing others it’s probably not going to be a good fit.
  • Hospitality: It’s deeply important that our members feel seen, respected and cared for whether that’s at a multi-day event or a basic email exchange that leaves them smiling.

Let’s Talk About You

Again, someone wise once said a great community helps members connect with the people and information most impactful for their current situation. You’ll be responsible for making this happen at eCommerceFuel.

In short, you’ll be responsible for making sure that once someone joins eCommerceFuel they’ll never want to leave and tell all their entrepreneurial friends about our community.

If you’re a perfect fit you’ll be nodding your head and smiling as you read everything below:

  • Background in Community Development, Hospitality, Business Development, Sales: ….or really anything where your success depends on deeply understanding people’s needs and cultivating long-term relationships. Ideally a 5+ year proven track record in one of these areas.
  • People-Lover: At your core, you’re someone who gets deep satisfaction from connecting individuals and fostering strong bonds.❤️
  • Interpersonal Pro: Your interpersonal skills are warm and top-notch. Whether in person, via email, or in online forums, you have a knack for engaging with and uniting people.
  • Travel Enthusiast: You’re available for and excited about travel (potentially ~30% of the time) and becoming the heart of various events.
  • You’ve Built Something from Scratch: You can point to something that you single-handedly were responsible for bringing into the world, ideally centered around bringing people together. This could be a community, an event or something else that shows you can be a catalyst for something new.
  • Emcee and Moderator Material: From intimate gatherings to grand events, you’re willing and eager to take the stage and guide the proceedings.🎤 You’re also able to moderate and guide group discussions with a diplomatic but firm hand.
  • U.S. Based + Remote Experience: You call the United States home and have ample experience in succeeding remotely, managing your hours effectively.
  • Autonomous Achiever: You’ve consistently excelled in a remote setting, always meeting or surpassing expectations. You’re extremely self-driven and don’t need a lot of hand holding.
  • Can Learn Business, Marketing and Tech Concepts: Unfamiliar terrains don’t daunt you. Whether it’s new business niches or tech nuances, you swiftly get the hang of them.🧠

Extra Brownie Points For:

  • A Background in eCommerce or Business. While this isn’t a requirement, having a foundational understanding of eCommerce will shorten your learning curve for topics and content discussed by members. That said, this isn’t a requirement for the role. eCommerce knowledge is one of the least important requirements for this role and can be learned. Please make sure to mention “easter eggs” in your video application.
  • Prior Experience in Event Organization. While we’ve got larger events covered by others on our team, your expertise in hosting smaller, intimate events (10-40 participants) will set you apart.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design a holistic connection strategy across online and in-person events that adds value to our members, strengthens our discussion forums and drives public exposure and new member signups
  • Actively engage in online forums, acting as the community host and serving as a link between members and resources.
  • Optimize our new member onboarding process to quickly bring new members into the fold and deliver immediate value from the community
  • Build up a local meetup program by partnering with local leaders and creating a regular and repeatable format to leverage
  • Find and forge bonds with subject-area experts who can speak and be a resource in our forums
  • Pilot and test new member meetup events
  • Show appreciation and hospitality to key members through notes and thoughtful gifts
  • Organize intriguing community challenges that help members connect, build rapport and improve their businesses and lives
  • Lead many of our events as the face/host/emcee
  • Help us fine-tune our word-of-mouth referral program to bring in new members
  • Work hand-in-hand with our Director of Events on our larger and more established events
  • Build relationships with sponsors to help finance in-person dinners and meetups

Perks: ✨

Didn’t talk you out of it yet? That’s great news because there are some fantastic perks to joining forces with team ECF:
