About the Role

We’re looking for a Community Manager to join our team and help execute our community initiatives and programming. This role will support our Head of Community & Events, and play a pivotal part in nurturing and managing our community by helping to plan, manage and execute our digital and in person events and experiences.

This is a remote position that requires exceptional **communication skills, empathy for the entrepreneurial journey, strong organizational abilities, and experience planning and executing in person and digital events.

This job reports to Hampton’s Head of Community & Events and is a highly visible role across the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure our members have a positive experience at Hampton through personalized support, addressing inquiries, gathering feedback, and proactively identifying opportunities to enhance member experience and inform community development.
  • Help drive, organize and facilitate member led events, both in person and digitally.
  • Keep your finger on the pulse of conversations in Slack so that we can proactively identify opportunities to support our members, design programming, and create surprise and delight moments.
  • Plan memorable and unique member dinners across the country as part of our Hampton Dinner Party series.
  • Help collaborate with outside agencies and contractors to plan Hampton Experiences and Hampton Retreats and evolve both of those nascent programs.
  • Introduce members to one another and facilitate introductions based on shared interests, industries, or goals, helping members build meaningful relationships and connections within the community.
  • Monitor and moderate the community to ensure that all interactions adhere to Hampton's community guidelines and policies, addressing any issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with trends, tools and best practices in online and in person community management, tech entrepreneurship, and relevant industries to continuously improve the community experience for our members.

Qualifications:

  • You will be a very visible presence in the community - so this means you must exude a remarkable presence, energy, and demeanor.
  • A natural relationship-builder, capable of fostering a sense of community and trust amongst members.
  • Proficiency in planning and executing both digital and in-person events, from ideation to post-event follow-up.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and moderate conversations in a professional and inclusive manner.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, with a high degree of self-motivation and accountability.
  • Passion for tech entrepreneurship and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by founders and CEOs of fast-growing tech companies.
  • Founder or entrepreneur is a plus.
  • Great sense of humor is a plus.
